Breast cancer s among the most deadly diseases that afflict women around the world. According to scientists at the Kaiser Permanente, this disease is mainly caused by diets high in full-fat dairy products.
In fact, it has been confirmed that women with breast cancer who regularly consume full-fat dairy products have a higher risk of progressing the disease to an advanced stage compared to women who’ve cancer but don’t consume such products.
Hormone estrogen, stored in fat cells, promotes the growth of breast cancer cells, as well as hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer. It’s believed that most commercial dairy products in the developed nations have a high amount of estrogen and progesterone, primarily because the milk could be from pregnant cows.
As such, women diagnosed with breast cancer are advised to avoid full-fat dairy products, more so if one has hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer.
Scientist examined some full-fat dairy products to confirm if consuming such products actually elevates the risk of recurrence of breast cancer. The examined full-fat dairy products include:
cheese
custard
butter
yoghurt
pudding
Ice cream
flan
Whole milk
Condensed or evaporated milk
The study involved supervision of participants for 12 years. In the study, those who consumed full-fat dairy products on a daily basis had a 64% risk of succumbing to other factors and a 49% risk of succumbing to breast cancer complications.
Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that women who consume full-fat dairy products on a daily basis have an increased risk of dying from breast cancer complications.
